I was recently talking with Dr. Joel Taatjes, of Redwood Chiropractic, a chiropractor practicing in Petaluma, California.

I was taking a drive up the 101 freeway, heading towards Santa Rosa, and remembered Dr. Joel practiced in the Petaluma area. It is an incredibly beautiful area and is quite different from Venice Beach, California (which was my starting point for the long drive).

Petaluma is about halfway between San Rafael and Santa Rosa. Highway 101 (Redwood Highway) passes through Petaluma, it is the only major highway in the area.

There is about 60,000 people living in Petaluma and Dr. Joel is keeping plenty busy with the local residents. I asked Dr. Joel if people ever come to his chiropractic office from areas other than Petaluma. He told me the office mostly serves local residents but it’s not uncommon for people to come to the office from places such as Sonoma, Novato, Cotati, Rohnert Park, and even Santa Rosa.

I spent some time with Dr. Joel, a few years back in Costa Rica, while on a chiropractic mission to that country. Joel has an incredible ability to focus on the people he’s caring for and he’s known among his colleagues as a master chiropractor. He is one of those doctors of chiropractic that you go out of your way to go visit if you’re even anywhere near his office. It comes as no surprise that people would travel many miles to receive chiropractic care in his office.
